Butterflies of Peace by Romilly Gapp

I wake with the sun beaming through the window,

And birds sing melodies of peace in the green gardens,

Filled with with the colours of a rainbow,

My heart feels safe, guarded with peace,

Butterflies flutter freely, like the rest of us,

And happiness spreads across everyone’s faces,

But no-one knows suffering life you do,

Your light will one day overcome destruction, killing and mother’s cries,

The doors will soon be open and war,

Oh war will not exist.
