Life of a Child in Palestine

By: Charlie Dodridge

Age: 12

I walk through my war torn home
I hear the sirens ring
Warning us of an incoming bomb
It’s a terrifying thing

I am scared for my life
And for the lives of my family
The pain of the fear
Stabs me like a knife.

As we ride to our school,
On the back of a dusty mule
Through a dangerous place
That we have to face.
