Light the Way Home – By Lara Metayer

This poem is written to all the children in Palestine

It seems dark and all that was yours is supposedly gone.
Its hard and life is far from serenity.
But no matter what they say
And though light may seem stamped out
There’s always hope
And there’s always light.
Do not go down without a fight.
When a single candle is blown out by the harsh, bitter wind,
The beacon on the headland stays shining
Forever still shining
Lighting your way home.
