Sea Change by Eva

A woman throws her coat on the sofa,

A penny rolling out the pocket,

Falling into the bowls of the cracks.

She thrusts her mistake-ridden work on the sofa,

She hides many tearful days under the patchwork pillows,

But proudly displays the happy moments,

A lost shoelace winds its way into the abyss,

Carving out tunnels ,

For the warm breeze to ruffle,

At the edge of an ocean buried deep within the sofa,

A secret ocean full of lost wishes and long forgotten dreams
