Dear You by Milo, age 10

Even though you live on the other side, we share a lot.
We share feelings and emotions. When our tears drop
To the dusty ground, splashing quietly.
We share happiness when our smiles are so big they almost hit our ears.

We share the same earth, sun and moon.
The sunburn boiling our red noses
The puddles splashing up in our wellie boots
And the dirty water seeping through our socks
We share the same rainclouds in the sky
The hope that the rain won’t come.

When we roll out of bed and the sun rises
We all start a new day.
When the sun sets we all
Feel the same happiness of the beauty and the views.

Even though you live on the other side, we share a lot.
